The book that got me interested in drug policy was Dark Alliance. And I keep a copy of the congressional testimony about the CIAs knowledge of the Contra drug dealing. Everyone should read that. (It would have been interesting if the John Kerry that ran those hearings had shown up instead of the dude we got for the elections.)

That depends what you consider U.S. drug policy to be. Go play with Wikipedia until you have Narco-Kleptocracy and Plutocracy sussed out under political systems ( they are both chameleons ) and then consider these
